80 to 90 people attended the show, with some travelling from Portland, Hamilton, St Arnaud and Melbourne.
During the show, quilts were on display, there was a show and tell, and quilters were able to gather and share tips and tricks for quilting.
Attendee Lola Petschauer said one of the highlights for her was hearing the guest speakers.
“I was born in Stawell, but I learnt things I didn’t know about the Stawell Gift,” she said.
Stawell Athletic’s Club Murray MacPhearson spoke about the town’s history and the Stawell Gift.
Quilt judge Margaret Parkinson spoke about what quilting judges are looking for in quilts.
“Another feature for the event was being able to meet like-minded people and to catch up. In the country, you don’t get that opportunity all that often,” Ms Petschauer said.
There were also pop up shops at the event.
“It was a fantastic event,” Ms Petschauer said.
Ms Petschauer said all of the credit for the gathering needs to go to Stawell Quilters Inc., for their hard work in hosting the Victorian quilters gathering.
