The musical, presented by Ararat Musical Comedy Society, will run for one week at Stawell Entertainment Centre from May 26 to June 3.
Curtains director Andrew Evans said work on the musical started late last year.
“We did the casting early this year and we have a wonderful cast, we’re much luckier than we deserve with the cast. Some cast members have done lots of plays and musicals, and other members are new and up-and-coming,” he said.
“It’s a musical for everyone, including families. The main thing is you’ve just got to be there,” Mr Evans said.
The musical initially ran on West End and was created by the same people from Cabaret and Chicago.
A highlight of the show for Mr Evans is the song Show People.
“It’s one of those tunes you walk out of the theatre still singing, it’s a catchy tune,” he said.
