The four crash victims, Dianne Barr, from Heywood, Tess Ely and Elaine Middleton, from Hamilton, and Claudia Jackson from Portland, were returning home from a day of dancing at St Arnaud when the car they were travelling in collided with another at the intersection of Bains Road and Ararat-St Arnaud Road at about 6pm.
The 64-year-old Stawell woman driving the other vehicle has been charged with four counts of culpable driving causing death.
She has been bailed to appear in Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
