Hosting Taylors Lake at North Park, the Baggies were forced to work hard for their 89-point win.
The home-side farewelled legend Jake Goodes in his final game with a comfortable 21.18 (144) to 8.7 (55) victory.
The Baggies opened the game strongly, booting five goals to two to break away to an early lead.
The Lakers did not let Swifts have it all their own way, battling hard to be within 29 points of their opponent at half time.
Swifts blew the game wide open after the main break, booting 12 goals to three in the second half.
Swifts coach Scott Carey said the Lakers played well for much of the game.
“It certainly wasn’t all one-way traffic and Taylors Lake put up a good fight for three quarters,” he said.
“We were able to out muscle them in the final quarter and we played some good team football.
“It is great to be back on the winners list after two losses in a row. Winning games is important to building momentum going forward.”

Zac Armer and Ben Taylor were Swifts’ best on the day, both finishing with four goals each.
2017 leading goalkicker Andrew Cameron had one of his best games of the season so far after several quite games to start the year.
Cameron – who booted 77 goals in 2017 – had kicked just five goals from four games prior to the Taylors Lake game.
He was able to hit his straps on Saturday, kicking six majors.
“’Camo’ has played a different role for us this year – he has been trying to lead a bit more and get some other guys more involved,” Carey said.
“He has also played through some injuries so seeing him up and about kicking goals again was fantastic. I am loving what he is putting forward at the moment so hopefully he can keep it going for the rest of the season.”
The win sees the Baggies move to fourth on the Horsham District ladder, establishing a third versus fourth clash after the interleague break.
Swifts will travel to take on Kalkee in what is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing games of the season to date.
“At the start of the season we wanted to have more wins than losses by the interleague break which we have now done,” Carey said.
“There are plenty of big weeks ahead and we still have room to improve.
“Our natural instinct as a team is to attack so we will continue to work on our defensive pressure and shutting down teams that way. It is more about doing it consistently rather than in patches.”
