The two men were injured after an explosion at the UniGrain site at 2.45pm.
The 37-year-old man is being airlifted to Melbourne with serious burns to his face while the other man is being transported to Ballarat Base Hospital with burns to his face, arms and back.
It is understood the injuries are not life threatening.
Senior Sergeant Neale Robinson said an explosion occurred in a boiler.
“We’ve got a 37-year-old Creswick man who is being arilifted to Melbourne with serious injuries and a 51-year-old Wendouree man who is being taken to Ballarat Base hospital with minor injuries,” Senior Sergeant Robinson said.
“The CFA has control of the scene until they render it safe. Workcover has been notified and are en route as well as our police investigators.
“We believe a build up of pressure within the boiler itself (caused the accident). The CFA have specialists in there and they are still working it.
“I believe the workers were investigating a pressure alarm.”
