Sergeant Karen Bain from Halls Gap Police Station, said eight E-bikes were damaged at the weekend, after someone placed thumbtacks on the bike path.
The E-bikes were damaged by the thumbtacks to the tyres.
“I think it is appalling someone is doing this,” Sergeant Bain said.
This is the third reported incident to police of E-bikes being damaged by thumbtacks in the area.
The last reported incidents were in December 2017 and earlier this year.
The controversial E-bikes are popular with tourists in Halls Gap.
Earlier this year a seven-year-old girl was injured after an E-bike hit her.
Halls Gap police have been doing pushbike patrols in the area to monitor E-bike usage.
“There were apparrently quite a lot of E-bikes out last weekend (when the eight E-bikes were damaged) because it was nice weather,” Sergeant Bain said.
“We will be looking at doing pushbike patrols over this weekend too.”
