Stawell Uniting Church will be flipping pancakes on Thursday at 10am for the Stawell community.
Proceeds will go towards Uniting Vic Tas. They work with people at risk of or experiencing financial crisis, homelessness, mental illness and problems with alcohol and other drugs, by empowering them with the support they need.
“We’ve been taking part in the pancake day appeal for many years,” said pancake day appeal local coordinator Julie Andrew.
“It’s a great way for us to get together share food and help others”.
The pancake day appeal has raised nearly $1.8 million for communities across Victoria and Tasmania over 17 years.
2.9 million Australians are living in poverty, which means that one in seven Australians are living in poverty and one in six children affected.
