The Swifts footballer recorded his first ever hole-in-one on Tuesday on the par three sixth hole of the Stawell Golf Club.
Martin said the lead up to the hole had been far from ideal.
“Approaching the sixth I was a little annoyed with myself because I’d come off two wipeouts on fourth and fifth holes,” he said.
“Walking to the tee I just thought things could only get better.
“When I hit it I held the pose because I thought it came off pretty nicely.”
Martin said he was “beyond excited” when he saw the ball land in the cup.
“It bounced just in front of the green, bounced again on the green and then rolled into the hole,” he said.
“The celebrations were pretty loud – I was screaming like a little schoolgirl for a bit.
“It is a great feeling to finally say I have hit a hole-in-one.”
