A WESTERN Australian man will appear in court after being caught with weapons and a substance alleged to be methamphetamine at the weekend.

Stawell Acting Sergeant Bryan Anderson said police did a routine interception on a vehicle traveling through Great Western at 2am on Saturday morning.
He said they searched the vehicle and found a number of weapons and 8.5 grams of a substance alleged to be ice. Also, found were a quantity of prescription medication, a number of mobile phones and cash.
Acting Sergeant Anderson said the 40-year-old driver was arrested and bailed to appear at the Ararat Magistrates Court in May.
