NOTICE: Northern Grampians Shire Council's building department has placed an order and notice relating to rectification works on Stawell's Brix Hotel.

Stawell’s Brix Hotel will be shut temporarily after the property owner was ordered to rectify the building.

Northern Grampians Shire Council manager of environment and community safety Warren Groves said it followed an inspection last week by the council’s building department.

"An order and notice relating to rectification works has been placed on the property following an inspection by Council's building department, but the property certainly has not been condemned and discussions with the property's owner are ongoing," he said.

Brix Hotel owners Marnie and Craig Rowden bought the business in the middle of last year after making the move to Stawell from Point Cook.

The owners were contacted for comment.
