Stawell Golf has won through to the Grampians Bowls Division midweek final after a comprehensive win against Lake Bolac in the preliminary final on Monday.

The Golf team claimed 10 of the 12 points on offer with a 78 shots to 60 win.

Dulcie Molan and her group got the Stawell Golf team off to a strong start with a six-shot win against Joan Curnow’s squad 29 shots to 23.

It was a nervy second rink with Lake Bolac looking like closing the gap, courtesy of Karen Gleeson’s team.

Gleeson’s squad went on to win 23 shots to 19 to make it a two-shot differential going into the final rink.

The final came down to the result of the final rink with both teams feeling the pressure.

Eventually Dawn Blackman helped her team to victory with a 30 shots to 14 win against Judy Aldous’ group to progress through to the decider against Stawell Bowls Club.

The grand final between the two Stawell teams will be played at Aradale Bowls Club on Monday morning.
