Swifts 26 defeated Chocolate Thunder 25 in a tight contest.
They were looking to take out back to back premierships.
Chocolate Thunder had only been beaten by Swifts during the season and came ready to challenge the undefeated team.
From the first Centre they did not allow Swifts to play their usual game and kept the pressure on.
Thunder led throughout the game and until the last quarter when Swifts doggedly chased down their lead.
Swifts made a few changes and the mid court fired while Hugh Carey did well in a high pressure position under the ring.
The game wasn’t decided until the dying seconds of the match with Swifts winning by a goal.
Ben Hodgetts won the goal shooting award for the second time, scoring 223 goals for the season and 20 in the grand final.
