A section of the freight line was officially reopened at Avoca late last month.
“Thirty-five level crossings between Maryborough and Ararat will be fully activated during 2018, while V/Line is phasing the return of rail services to the Mildura line,” A council statement said.
“Please be careful around level crossings along the rail line.”
To ensure your safety and the safety of others:
- Always obey the warning signs at level crossings and take care around rail lines.
- Comply with and observe all directional signs and barriers
- Be aware of heavy equipment operating within sections of access roads near rail lines
- Drive at a reduced speed on approaching any work activity or level crossing
Ararat Rural City Council and V/Line will continue to keep the community updated on level crossing works and train movements as the project progresses.
