The state government has released results from the 2016 Victorian Healthcare Experience Survey.
The survey asked patients to rate hospitals on the care they received and their discharge experience.
East Grampians Health Service received the highest satisfaction rating in the region, with 99 per cent of patients rating the hospital as ‘good’ or ‘very good’.
West Wimmera Health Service, East Wimmera Health Service and Stawell Regional Health received an overall rating of 98 per cent.
Patients at Wimmera Health Care Group gave the service an overall rating of 96 per cent, which was up from 95 per cent in 2015.
The health service received 85 per cent for its overall discharge experience, which was up from 80 per cent.
The Victorian average was 91 per cent for overall rating and 75 per cent for discharge experience.
Wimmera Health Care Group chief executive Catherine Morley said it was good to see the hospital trending in the right direction.
“However, we know we make mistakes,” she said.
“When we do make mistakes, we want people to tell us directly.
“These figures are how the department is measuring us, but if we haven’t provided a great experience, we want people to tell us straight away so we can fix it or minimise issues in the future.
“Everyone gets better when they feel better and if we don’t provide a service that helps people feel better, then we aren’t doing our job.”
In other results, 65 per cent of patients felt their family had enough opportunity to talk to staff and 80 per cent said bathrooms and toilets were clean.
Ms Morley said there was still issues the hospital was trying to fix such as improving bathrooms and parking.
“We seem to be engaging with patients well,” she said.
“While we know there are bathrooms that need to be fixed up to make them nicer, we have to make sure our team members are providing a friendly service along with safe and high quality care.
“We need to provide treatments in a manner that is respective and makes people feel cared for.”
Ms Morley said the survey results were from 2015-16 and it was disappointing not to have figures from 2017 yet.
