The changes will come into place as of February 1 this year.
Horsham District Kindergarten Association’s (HDKA) Pauline Butler and Stawell District Preschool Association’s Julie McClure said the move was a “wonderful” opportunity to strengthen the town’s kindergarten services.
“It will also provide on-going, quality, low-cost kindergarten programs and outcomes for children and families across the region,” they said.
“With the Department Education and Training and the full support of Northern Grampians Shire SDPA Committee of Management we made the decision to amalgamate with Horsham and District Kindergarten Association Early Years Management Service to ensure the ongoing financial viability and provision of quality kindergarten programs continue.”
Mrs McClure said the new partnership would not affect any child currently enrolled in the facility.
“Services will remain the same for children, with all kindergarten programs continuing as usual,” she said.
”Educators will not change – teachers and educators will remain the same at both Marrang and Cooinda kindergartens.”
Mrs McClure said a Parent Advisory Group was now set up, instead of a Committee of Management.
“The Parent Advisory Group will be set up for parents to have their say in the ongoing development of the kindergarten programs and to assist with fundraising activities, uniform orders and more,” she said.
“The Parent Advisory Group will be supported by Horsham and District Kindergarten Association and will meet regularly to ensure quality programs are being delivered.”
Mrs McClure also assured parents would not have to worry about any changes to fees, with prices remaining the same and various payment options being available.
“As of the 1 February if you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact Horsham and District Kindergarten Association on 5382 7997 or by phoning the Stawell office on 5358 1249,” she said.
“In the meantime if you have any further questions please contact me on 5358 1249.”
