As Stawell prepares to celebrate Australia Day here is all you need to know about the town’s planned celebrations.

- 2-5pm: Free pool party at Stawell Leisure Complex – free temporary Australia Day tattoos – local DJ – children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult
- 5.45pm: Free community barbecue and other activities at Cato Park
- 6pm: Northern Grampians Shire Council mayor Cr Tony Driscoll welcome speech
- Introduction of Australia Day ambassador, Damian Brown
- Ripon MP Louise Staley to present Citizen of the Year
- Northern Grampians Shire Council awards
- Appreciation certificates to Service Clubs presentation
- Citizen ceremony – two candidates involved
- 7pm: Official ceremony finishes
Stawell’s traditional Australia Day fireworks display will be cancelled due to fire restrictions.
Fireworks will erupt into the Stawell night sky on the evening of Easter Saturday instead.
