Reigning A Grade premiers Buangor ended 2017 in promising fashion, claiming a crucial away win against Navarre on Saturday.
The Grasshoppers won the toss and fared well with the strong Buangor bowling attack.
They put a total of 124 together from their 40 overs, losing eight wickets on the way.
Jack Ganley claimed four of those wickets from his eight over spell.
After losing 2-27 in reply to Navarre, Shaun Allen and Buangor skipper Chris Jerram rallied to steer the visitors over the line.
Jerram finished 43 not out while Allen brought up his first half century of the season in the 104-run third-wicket stand.
The win sees Buangor hold third spot heading into 2018, just one win behind ladder leaders Youth Club.
The loss rules out any slim chance Navarre had of a finals berth, after returning to A Grade from B Grade last season. The Grasshoppers have been solid since returning to the top flight, but have only been rewarded with on victory from seven games.
