A government grant handed out last season will allow works to begin on upgrading the surface at the oval, which will prevent games from being played at the ground for the rest of the season.
In a boost for GCA officials, access will be regained to Great Western Recreation Reserve and Pomonal from this weekend after upgrades concluded.
GCA president David Turner said it is fortunate timing to have both grounds back at the same week Gordon Street will be made unavailable.
“It makes things a lot easier with doing our fixture to have more grounds ready to use,” he said.
Great Western is ready to go after a new synthetic pitch was laid down on Wednesday night while Pomonal has fully recovered from recent surface works.
