Youth Club will be at home for its Grampians Cricket Association B Grade round eight clash against Swifts-Great Western at North Park on Saturday.
The Clubbers sit mid table while the Combine are at the top of the table and will look to continue their winning streak at the weekend.
Youth Club captain Brody Stewart said it will be a good test to see how far the team has come as it comes up against the best team in the competition.
“They are one of the better sides, I’ve been talking to some of their guys who said they had some players who did not play A Grade who might play B Grade this week,” he said.
“So that will certainly strengthen their team but we have not selected the team yet, that will be done on Friday at training.”
With the B Grade being a one-day competition this year, it means a game can slip away even quicker if you are not switched on.
Stewart said he knows a strong performance with the bat and ball will be required if they are to get the points.
...they will get a good opportunity this week which is important for their development.

“We will need an all round effort from everyone in the team,” he said.
“We need to get our runs up and keep theirs down, if we do one well but not the other, we will lose.”
Stewart will miss the clash due to work commitments but is confident whoever is selected will be up for the task.
“For us we are just trying to do what we can to put as many runs on the board as possible,” Stewart said.
“It is always really important to get wins wherever you can, but as well as getting wins, putting good performances in is just as good and that is what we need if the rain holds off on Saturday.”
The Clubbers have been well represented by juniors, a trend that is likely to continue for the round eight match.
“We have a few juniors who play in the team, so they will get a good opportunity this week which is important for their development,” Stewart said.
Sam Cocks is one player who may slot in for Combine after missing the A Grade game last week. Swifts-Great Western will go into the match as heavy favourites but the most likely result will be a draw due to the rain.
