Hopes of a finals berth will drive Pomonal in it’s chase of an outright win against Navarre on Saturday.
The visitors have already claimed six points for the first innings win but will be desperate to add another four to climb the A Grade ladder.
The Grasshoppers were bowled out for 121 on the first day of play last weekend, which was quickly chased down by Pomonal. Pomonal heads into day two with a 15-run lead with seven wickets in hand.
Pomonal captain Clayton Mackley said an outright win will be firmly in the minds of his players.
“If we want to be a chance at finals we will have to push for an outright,” he said.
“We will have a quick dash with the bat and try to put them back in as quickly as possible.
“A lead of over 100 would be ideal. We have wickets in hand which is also really handy.”
Pomonal is currently sitting 12 points outside the top four. Brian Thomas and Robert McKinnon will resume their innings’ on 34 and five not out respectively.
