Perfect conditions and a lush fairway made for a great weekend for the 2017 Halls Gap Golf Club annual tournament.
With a new watering system in place, the course was in pristine condition for golf.
Although numbers were down on last year, Halls Gap Golf Club captain Steve Johnston said it was a good weekend of golf.
“I think the warmer weather may have had something to do with the numbers,” he said.
“We are only a small club run by volunteers so to get the course looking the way it did was a great effort.”
Johnston said while the club is a popular place for tourists, he hopes the course will be played by more locals throughout summer.
“We have a summer membership available for just $100 which runs until the end of daylight savings,” he said.
“We have a full program of golf for the first time in a long time. There will be regular competitions and open golf days throughout our season which runs until June.”
The club’s next big event is on Sunday, December 17.
