The Ararat Redbacks have made a promising start to the 2017-18 Country Basketball League season, the the Ararat Fitness Centre becoming a formidable home court.
Part of the Redbacks’ big home court advantage has been the big crowds and the sideline support of its very own cheer leading group.
Girls from as young as six to 16 years old from Dynamic Dance Ararat have been cheering on from the sidelines in every Redbacks home game so far, and will continue to do so for the rest of the season.
Dynamic Dance Ararat principal Laura Cameron said she has been impressed by the cheering efforts of her students despite only practicing for four weeks.
“The girls absolutely love it and they create a great atmosphere for the games,” she said.
“It is a great opportunity for the dancers to have another opportunity to showcase their talents and support a terrific local sporting group.
“It is nice for dance and basketball to join together.”
