28 senior and six junior Stawell and District Angling Club members fished an open water event last weekend for a good return of 51 redfin and one rainbow trout.
Anglers fished lakes Fyans, Toolondo, Wartook and Taylors, with Fyans producing the most fish.
It was an excellent example of fish that was weighed, in with 22 redfin over 40 centimetres.
Darren Smith stook top honours with 10 Lake Fyans redfin coming to an aggregate length of 385cm. Doug Collins was not far behind with eight redfin and one rainbow trout aggregating 327cm from Lake Toolondo.
The juniors also got among the fish with Wilson Dowset catching 3 redfin at Fyans for a total length of 106.5cm while Wyatt Blake landed a nice 43cm reddie at Cato Lake. The Newtons Butchers award for the longest fish went to John Smith with a 50cm Lake Fyans redfin.
The next club competition will be held at Lake Fyans on Saturday, November 5 until 12pm the following day with weigh-in at 12.15pm.
