17 senior and three junior Stawell and District Angling Club members tried their luck at both lakes last weekend with only Lake Fyans producing fish.
The quality of the redfin that was caught was very encouraging for the coming season with a lot of the redfin over 40cm in length.
Graeme Nuske had a good weekend, hauling in seven redfin for an aggregate length of 276 centimetres.
Nuske also took out the TK Auto Electrics award for the longest fish with a redfin of 48cm.
Ray Howard also landed some of the bigger fish, reeling in five redfin with an aggregate of 209.5cm.
Darren Smith’s four redfin aggregated 169.5cm.
New junior angler Wilson Dowset weighed in two redfin at 50cm. The next club run will bean open water event from 6am Saturday, October 21 until noon Sunday October 22.
