A solid season for Navarre can be topped off in perfect fashion on Saturday when three of its teams take to the field at Maryborough in the MCDFNL grand finals.

The Grasshoppers’ B Grade netball team as well as its under-14.5 and senior footballers will be fighting to bring back premierships to Navarre.

Navarre president Cory Hope said he has been impressed by the way the younger players from across the club have stood up to play in senior teams throughout the year.

“It is great to see younger players get promoted and perform really well,” he said.

“From the footy side of things we had a fair few injuries in the senior side but the boys that stood up to fill the void did a really good job.”

The new president said his first season  in charge has been an “enjoyable” one.

“There is always a strong committee here at Navarre which makes my job so much easier,” he said.

“There are a lot of people from all over the place that have helped me in my first year.”

Hope said he has developed a greater understanding for Navarre’s success and great culture in his new role.

“There is a good reason why we have been at the top for so long – our facilities are terrific and we have so many people that care for the club,” he said.

“It is great to see all the players continue to enjoy playing and stay loyal to the club.

“Navarre is just a great club to be around and I think the success we have had speaks to that.

“I’d like the thank our committee, all of our sponsors and our supporters for another great season.”
