Navarre’s hunt for a fifth consecutive A Grade premiership is over after suffering a 15-goal loss to Avoca on Sunday.
The Grasshoppers could not repeat their efforts against the Bulldogs from their final home and away game in the 43-28 loss. Navarre defeated Avoca twice in the regular season.
The Bulldogs led from start to finish in the elimination final to set up a semi final match-up against Harcourt.
Avoca shot 11 goals from just 12 attempts to take the lead at quarter time.
The lead continued to grow in the second term, with the Grasshoppers trailing 23-17.
Navarre struggled to put a score on the board, shooting just four goals in the third term to trail by nine goals at the final break.
The Bulldogs played their best quarter of the game to finish strongly and claim a historic win.
Navarre coach Taylor Mason was best on court for the Grasshoppers, shooting 13 goals.
Maddison Egan was the standout player for Avoca, shooting 34 goals to carry her team to victory.
It was a mixed round for the other Navarre netball teams.
The B Grade team held off a fast finishing Trentham to move on to the preliminary final in two weeks time.
The under 17 went down by three goals to Trentham while the C Grade side suffered a one-goal defeat to Harcourt in their qualifying finals.
Both teams will have a double chance and play in semi finals next weekend.
