A win would have kept the Grasshoppers level with second placed Harcourt and three other sides hoping for top four berths.
They have now dropped to seventh on the ladder, two games ahead of Maldon who sit only six points outside of the top eight.
The very different looking A Grade outfit trailed from the outset, with Maldon taking a five-goal quarter-time lead.
Navarre reeled the margin back to four goals in the second period, and could not cut it any more by the final break, trailing 44-40 at three-quarter-time.
The Bombers shot 12 last quarter goals to claim the upset win.
Mia Jensz continued her strong inter league form across to Saturday’s game, being named Navarre’s best on court. Jensz rotated from defence to attack in the final term, scoring four goal from four attempts.
