A team of 24 talented young footballers have been selected following the AFL Wimmera-Mallee under-14 carnival played in July.
Stawell’s Josh O’Donohue was selected at full forward as well as Jeziah Woods from Ararat on the interchange.
The team was selected by the coaches of the four teams representing their respective league on the day along with input from Wimmera-Mallee football development manager Jason Muldoon.
“It’s just a snap shot of who did well at the carnival and and nice little reward for them,” Muldoon said.
“It’s not an exclusive team and we’ll certainly continue to keep our eyes on other players that didn’t quite make it.”
Muldoon said the team was selected with one eye on the future.
“It certainly wasn’t an easy team to select,” he said.
“That is a great problem to have.”
