The women’s day basketball came to a close with the end of season ‘fun day’.
Players mixed and matched from all teams to participate in the final games.
Blue team defeated black in game one, winning 28-24.
There was a spread of scorers for both teams, with blue team pulling away in the second half.
Game two saw a less contested game, with blue defeating black 26-14.
Jess Hodder had an unfortunate end to the season, suffering a broken ankle.
Courtney Giroud was the standout player for blue, finishing with 10-points.
The day was also used as a farewell for longtime player, umpire and committee member Stacey Street.
Women’s day basketball organiser Trish Ralph said Street’s efforts were appreciated.
“We thank her for the many hours of voluntary work she has contributed even after finishing playing due to injury,” she said.
The next women’s day basketball season is likely to resume on Monday, July 24, with new players encouraged to join.
