The owners of Stawell Gold Mines, Kirkland Lake Gold, will suspend production at the Cosmo mine in Northern Territory next month.
It comes after the company announced the Stawell Gold Mines was entering into a care and maintenance mode in December, making 150 workers redundant.
The Canadian company will close the operation on June 30 as part of an operational review, saying it would now focus on aggressive resource definition and exploration at the site.
