A town resident is providing Stawell Secondary VCE students with stress release strategies by offering Falun Dafa meditation sessions at the school.
Marie Lambert conducted the first session on Monday afternoon, May 15.
She said Falun Dafa practice was the cultivation of one’s mind and thoughts.
Stawell Secondary VCE co-coordinator Millie Francis said it was an appropriate time to introduce mindfulness techniques to the students.
“At the moment the students are being hit with a lot of assignment and tasks,” she said.
“This gives them some strategies to deal with those pressures, to relax and to focus.”
Ms Francis said the VCE year frequently played out in a variety of ways for the students, but there was often a high amount of stress involved.
”The students do find it is extremely stressful,” she said.
“Especially during crunch time, which is normally just before unit four, when exam preparation is starting to get underway.”
