School principal Ja-San Trimble said the pupils nominated themselves and had to do a presentation in front of the school on why they wanted a leadership role.
“They talk about why they would be a good leader, their motivations for wanting the role and what skills they can bring to the table,” she said.
“The whole school votes so they are nominated by their peers.”
Ms Trimble said the school only had 39 pupils, so it was a good idea to be involved in leadership.
“It is all hands on deck when you get a leadership role at this school,” she said.
“The junior school council aims to have one fundraiser per term and they meet once a week to choose who they are raising funds for.”
Halls Gap Primary pupils will be hosting an Easter raffle at the next Halls Gap market.
“It is a great role to have and we wish this year’s junior school council all the best in their 2017 plans,” Ms Trimble said.
