
Former Essendon Football Club player Dustin Fletcher will visit Stawell on Thursday night to speak about his career.
The 400-game legend will host a two-hour ltalk show at the Gift Hotel and share some of stories from his 23-year career in the black and red.
The dual AFL premiership player will also have a question and answer session at the end of the night to allow fans to get to know the former player.
Organiser Peta Folkers said it will be good to have someone like Dustin visit Stawell as her has the history and prestige within the game.
"This is the first sportsmans night we have tried,” she said. “We have been to a few others but it is good to have our own.
“If it is successful, it is definitely something we would look at doing again in the future with someone else.”
Folkes said there are limited tickets remaining.
"Tickets are selling fast especially with the late notice we got,” she said.
“We got the call on March 3 and I have been busy since then doing posters and things like that trying to get the word out.”
Swifts Football Club and the Gift Hotel are the organisers of the night which includes a two-course meal.
Limited tickets are available for $50 each if purchased prior to the event or $55 at the door.
