The site off Leviathan Road, near the Stawell Gold Mines, was a vacant site in January, before earthworks began in February.
“We always like to be further ahead than where we are, but we are quite comfortable with where we are at and happy with how everything is going at this stage,” Mr Sasse said.
“June or July is when you will see the first shipments come through, we won’t have all the 160 containers from Holland arrive at once, but they will start to be trucked in during that time.”
Northern Grampians Shire Councillor Jason Hosemans said it was great to see the project physically getting underway.
“It is so exciting that the ground works have finally started for the Nectar Farms hydroponics proposal,” he said.
“This project can have huge implications on our Shire in terms of employment and production.
“There are good positive vibes that everyone in town can now feel, things are happening, physically happening, you can see excavators and big holes being dug there, so rest assured that this is physically getting underway and there are some very exciting times ahead.”
The state government approved a grant that would secure the farm at Stawell and create 70 new jobs in January.
