Six-year-old Zach Ford raised $150 for the World Wildlife Fund during Sunday’s SES market at Stawell.
Zach’s mother Jodi said she was very proud of his passion and dedication towards animals suffering in the wild.
“He gets very distressed watching the WWF television ads, which depict the abuse and suffering of animals in the wild,” she said.
“In 2015 Zach raised $100 from family and friends to donate to WWF to help save the tigers.
“Now he has been collecting all unwanted toys and clothes to raise money for the orangutans.”
The Bornean orangutan has been listed as endangered and the Sumatran is critically endangered.
Mrs Ford said a lot of organisation had gone towards setting up the stall and collecting items to sell.
“We are very proud, Zach has been very organised, he has got his little clipboard with notes on it and he has been writing price tags out,” she said.
“He has been very excited and nervous about today, but so far so good.”
