Stawell Neighbourhood House was granted state government funding this year to host Adult, Community and Further Education courses to residents in the Northern Grampians Shire.
Coordinator Jenny Greenberger said the initiative organised funding to registered organisations to provide people of any age with an opportunity to improve their skills for employment.
“One of the most essential skills for employment these days is competency in the use of a computer and the internet,” she said.
“Courses for beginners and more advanced computer users begin at Stawell Neighbourhood House on February 13.
“A new ACFE course entitled Job Ready in Stawell was introduced as a pilot program in late 2016 for job seekers wanting to improve their prospects to successfully obtain employment.”
Ms Greenberger said participants responded to the program with positive feedback.
“2017 courses will be offered at the Powerhouse in Stawell and at Budja Budja Neighbourhood House in Halls Gap,” she said.
