
Stawell Ballet School students will be back on the dance floor when term one classes see students resume lessons for the first time in 2017.
The schools is hosting come and try sessions at Masonic Lodge on February 2, from 3.30pm and at Grampians Community Health Centre’s Diamond Room from 4pm on February 3.
Classes include creative dance, jazz and tap, ballet, hip hop and women’s dance exercise. They are led by internationally-trained teacher and school principal dance teacher Linda Grigg.
Mrs Grigg has trained with the Bolshoi Ballet and Minsk Choreographic School, while she is also accredited with the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Southern Federation of Dance.
School committee member Diane Blake said Mrs Grigg provided experience to the role.
"We feel very relieved and grateful to have such refreshing and qualified teachers here at SBS,” she said.
“It took over six months of negotiations to secure principal dance teacher Mrs Linda Grigg of District Dance Studio to the Stawell Ballet School."
Dancers Ella Cassidy, Charlotte Butcher and Kayla Membry were presented with their five-year award while Kimberly Blake won the Australian Dance Festival Award in 2016.
