With plenty of water around all lakes and rivers this year there is a big expectations for all anglers.
Reports of good fishing have left club members hopeful of a good year.
Lake Fyans is producing good red fin on yabbies, gudgeon and spinner baits.
Reports are that the Wimmera River is also producing good numbers of yellowbelly.
Taylors Lake has been another good lake to try for a Yellowbelly or a Murray Cod according to Stawell and District Angling Club members.
Prior to the Christmas, New Year break Red Fin were the fish the appeared most at the weigh in.
Times for fishing this weekend are from 7am Saturday January 14 until noon Sunday January 15.
The weigh in will be held at 2pm at the Stawell Club.
New members are welcome to try their luck at any time.
