Club secretary Tony Hillier said the program known as Tackers would be run by experienced and accredited instructors who would be coming from Melbourne based training centre, The Boat Shed.
“The Tackers program is an Australian sailing program based around using fun on-water and off-water games to teach kids the basics of sailing,” he said.
“Kids enrolled in the four day program will be learning to sail in pairs, becoming familiar with the skills needed to sail.”
The course will be conducted at the Stawell Yacht Club’s Lake Fyans facility from January 24 until January 27.
“The club will also host a teenager and adult learn to sail program conducted in the afternoon after the morning Tackers program so that no one will miss out,” Mr Hillier said.
“For more information on the Learn to Sail sessions, you can either contact The Boat Shed direct on 9686 2571 and ask to speak with Adam Gristwood, or go to the clubs website at www.stawellyachtclub.org.au.”
