In keeping with tradition the Stawell Farmers Market arrives a week early in the month of October.
Since the market commenced, organisers have traditionally conducted the October market a week early, due to the Stawell Agricultural Society Show being the fourth Saturday of the month.
The Stawell Show is scheduled for next Saturday, October 27 and therefore, the farmers market is being held this Sunday, October 21 at Laidlaw Park.
Steven Gliese will be at the Stawell Farmers Market and will have an abundance of tomatoes to choose from.
Steven grows his own plants at Lakeview Organics. He will have many varieties of heirloom tomatoes on sale at the market.
These are grown from organic seeds and well established in three litre tins ready for planting.
Also available from Steven will be the variety 'Daydream' which is similar to 'Gross Lisse' but fruit earlier and produce heavily over a long period. So if you are looking for eating, cooking or delicious cherry tomatoes Steven should have something to suit your particular taste.
The Picked Pair will be at the market this Sunday with Christmas cakes made and you can order different sized cakes to suit all needs.
There will also be jams, oils, herbs, vegetables, jewellery, clothing, shrubs and plants, fudge, bread, turkey products, trout, all on sale at affordable prices.
We have many gifted ladies who work hard to produce beautiful craft items that would be suitable as a gift for someone special at Christmas time. Nothing beats a hand-made gift made with love and care and not mass produced in China.
So come along and enjoy our market, meet up with friends, have a barbecue for lunch followed by pancakes. There is great fun to be had by young and old at the Stawell Farmers Market.
The market starts at 9am and finishes at 1pm at Laidlaw Park, 78 Patrick Street, Stawell.
