It's never easy to pick a Your Turn winner. The entries are always of high quality, and it's tough to judge just one of them as being the best of that month.

This month kicked off with Leigh Martin's nostalgia trip about Mario, follow my Matthew Hewson's recap of video game mascots. Stephen Foote then kicked off a great conversation about daring to try new game genres, and Martin Whitehead discussed his torrid love affair with Alice: Madness Returns. Finally we wrapped up the month with a Subway Surfers review from David Rollens and a second piece from Matthew Hewson, this time chatting about revivals of old game franchises.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed, but there can only be one winner, and this time it's Leigh Martin. Mario is such a corporate branding juggernaut that it can be easy to forget that people can have life-long personal relationships with the character. Well done Leigh for a great read.
Now for the big news I teased yesterday. In October, Your Turn is switching to a new prize: a Wi-Fi enabled PS Vita, very kindly provided by Sony Australia. I know many of you have said you would like a Vita, but money has been too tight to buy one. Well, now you can get one for free.
All you need to do is submit an article to Screen Play for publication, via SPYourTurn@gmail.com. Remember, you can submit serious articles, humour, personal stories, interviews, game reviews, or pretty much anything else you think your fellow Screen Play readers might be interested in. At the end of the month I'll make the tough decision and nominate a winner, who will receive a shiny new Vita.
As always, big thanks to Sony Australia for supporting the Your Turn initiative for so many years.
