Pomonal is beaming with market goodies

POMONAL - This Sunday is the last Sunday of September, therefore another lovely Pomonal Village Market is on in Pomonal's Hall.

A trip out to Pomonal means you can also savour the alluring perfumes of spring flowers, trees and shrubs that are blooming right now.

The small delightful market with its family atmosphere has much to offer - gorgeous, inexpensive plants for your garden, including many types of fabulous natives, cottage garden plants, citrus, hardy herbs, water-saving succulents, ground covers, bulbs, seedlings and seeds.

There will be tasty homemade cakes, biscuits, slices, nut loaves and lollies, thousands of pre-loved books to suit all tastes, also antique china and glassware, pre-loved CDs and tapes, striking costume jewellery and lucky dips.

Interestingly-designed caps and scarves will also be available, along with pre-loved and new children's toys and games, stoles, shawls, scarves, berets and beanies in handspun English Leicester yarn, handspun knitting yarn, fleeces, pot pourri, lavender bags, pre-loved LP records, jigsaws, cosy sheepskin products, baby clothes and much more.

Perhaps you are looking for antique linens and crocheted doilies, lace and little girls dresses, handmade soaps and handmade greeting cards, pre-loved women's clothes, fresh duck eggs, socks of all kinds - an endless list and all so interesting.

Get there early for beautiful fresh vegetables, fruit and honey - Reg's table beside the front gate is piled high, but goes quickly.

Also being the fifth Sunday, Pam and Neil will be there with many tasty salamis and other small-goods and the famous Berenberg products including jams and condiments.

We can't forget the girls in the kitchen who sell delicious morning or afternoon teas, as well as inexpensive yummy things for lunch including homemade soup. They also have lovely moist carrot cakes, sausage rolls and other tasty foods to take home. Over the past two months, there's been a stall with all sorts of interesting items, with the proceeds for the Hall Building Fund. This continues on Sunday. The tables will be piled high with all sorts of treasures, kindly donated by local folk.

Come and see Donna Newell who will be behind the counter. She's most helpful and friendly. In fact, all the stall-holders will be delighted to see you.
