There were 19 boats in all on the water for the 2pm race start, with a variety of mono hulls and two catamarans.
Members from the Ballarat club who had not sailed on Lake Fyans before were taken by its beauty and expansive size.
A large course was set to make the event a challenge.
The northerly wind was of a perfect strength to keep competitors on their toes and some exciting racing for the competitors.
Two races that were run back to back, each race taking just under an hour to complete.
Local sailor Andrew Pearce was overall first place winner of the event sailing his recently purchased Impulse design dinghy with Jason Heget from Ballarat taking out second place.
Third place saw a tied result with Stawell members Ross Bennett and Johno Knight both finishing on the same points.
