NATIONALS candidate for Ripon, Scott Turner has invited the Deputy Premier and Leader of The Nationals, Peter Ryan to Stawell this Thursday for the region's first Putting Locals First Forum.

Mr Turner said the Putting Locals First Forum would be held at the Stawell Entertainment Centre in Main Street from 11.15am to 12.30pm.

Mr Turner said the Deputy Premier would also attend a number of events while in Stawell, including the official opening of the Frewstal Abattoir expansion at 9.30am. 

Australia Post has called upon the charity and goodwill of Stawell and district residents to help neighbourhoods in need, in their new Our Neighbourhood Trust program.

Residents who visit the Australia Post Stawell Post Shop may notice the new collection boxes, which are now placed permanently across the post office network to encourage small change donations from customers.

CKS Swifts have lost their second game for the season to Kalkee after an arm wrestling round thirteen of Horsham District Football League.

It was always going to be a difficult task for the in form Swifts, taking on Kalkee on their home turf. The Kalkee oval is quite long and narrow and to play good football there without practice is a tough ask.
