Weather:  Cloudy. Areas of rain. Light winds becoming north to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h during the day then tending north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h during the afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 10 and 13 with daytime temperatures reaching the low 20s.

- One of Stawell Primary School's longest serving staff members has been honoured for her unwavering contribution. 

Canteen manager, Wendy Hooper has worked in the department responsible for student food delivery for 25 years.

- Northern Grampians Shire Council has announced plans to phase in an increase to the minimum flat fee at its transfer stations.

Council, as part of the proposal, will also reduce and standardise the level of subsidy for waste to landfill to 50 percent by 2016/17.

- Mathew Skinner has charged clear to secure victory in the Stawell Golf Club championship.

Skinner played three impressive rounds of golf to claim the championship for 2014, but some of the attention on Saturday went the way of a master stroke.

Steven Odgers landed the shot of the day when he scored a hole-in-one on the sixth hole.
