Confidence in the Swifts camp has grown following a solid 53 point win over Natimuk United in the opening round of the season..
CKS Swifts started their season just how they had wished with a strong win to break their eight year tradition.
CKS Swifts came out all guns blazing but tapered off towards the back end of the game.
Joint coach Ben Martin was pleased to have ticked off one of their goals.
"Overall we are happy with the outcome. We achieved our goal of winning the first game," Martin said.
"I was a little disappointed in our last quarter just because we set ourselves up by playing three great quarters and then took the gas off."
Martin, who has looked over last weekend's results, believes Kalkee will again have a very strong team led by their midfield.
"Obviously we had a quick look at their results and the same names as last year seem to be in the best and goal kickers so it helps to work out match ups," Martin said.
CKS Swifts will most likely welcome back Juliann Carr, Brett Hargreaves and Aaron Chavasse into their side.
Carr and Hargreaves were both unavailable last week while Chavasse played a handy game in the reserves.
Carr will fill the void of retiring forward Jeremy Joiner who is moving away.
With Matt Healy playing as well as he did in the ruck on the weekend, he will keep his spot, meaning Hargreaves will join fellow big men Carr and Martin in the forward line.
Rory Jones suffered a heavy knock to his quadricep during last week's match, but has said he will be fine to play tomorrow, the same scenario with Martin who had some swelling and soreness in his knee.
"Everyone has got through well, a couple of sore tired bodies, couple of heavy knocks, but all is okay." Martin said.
All of the CKS Swifts players that were available attended a recovery session at the Stawell Leisure Complex on Monday morning.
Now that the hype of round one has been and gone the Swifts will look to settle into a regular routine.
Players to watch in tomorrow's clash from Kalkee will be Timothy Wade, Brendan McDonald Josh Beddison and Shaun Gilbert.
Beddison was Kalkee's leading goalkicker last season, kicking 94 goals and started the year off well.
Beddison, although named in the best, didn't trouble the scoreboard so will be looking to rectify that against Swifts.
Wade on the other hand did find the middle of the big sticks, kicking three goals.
The big body of Wade and his ability to get around the ground and kick goals will be something coaches Martin and Paul Hanns have to take into consideration.
