Redevelopment commences at Central Park
CENTRAL Park’s netball court redevelopment is finally underway, with work starting last week.
Earlier in the year, Central Park was one of 41 facilities in Victoria that received a grant to upgrade their facilities, with the netball courts getting a much-needed upgrade.
The grant is worth $790,000, and the netball court will get a realignment, a concrete base with acrylic surface, and 200 lux LED lighting.
The project is expected to be completed by the March long weekend, or shortly after, and Stawell Warriors president Shane Field is excited that works are finally happening.
“It has been coming for a long time, and the fact that they are now starting the redevelopment is exciting,” he said.
“Once it gets done, it will be unreal, and everyone is looking forward to playing on the court.
“The next aim will be securing a second court, but we will be waiting a while for that.”
