Nature and history inspire new street names

PYRENEES Shire Council has turned to local flora and fauna to name three roads created by the Beaufort Key Worker Accommodation Project. The names, based on plants and animals impacted by the 2024 Bayindeen-Rocky Road fire, are: • Swift Street – after the swift parrot • Honeyeater Close – after the regent honeyeater • Falcon Terrace – after the black falcon
