Gravity stays behind the cameras
THE team responsible for producing the television coverage of the Powercor Stawell Gift will remain behind the cameras at Central Park through to 2031. Broadcast production company Gravity Media has extended its agreement with Stawell Gift Event Management for another five years, continuing a relationship which has now spanned nine years.

The deal will see Gravity remain responsible for the complete broadcast production of Stawell’s Easter showpiece.
The Gift regularly reaches more than one million viewers, with its separate broadcast agreement with the Seven Network also in place through to 2031.
For this year’s event, Gravity Media used 16 cameras across Central Park, including a drone and super slow-motion coverage, as well as a specially designed headset camera worn by the official firing the starter’s gun.
The main 120-metre Gift was broadcast on the Seven Network, with additional racing on 7plus and highlights on Fox Sports.
Stawell Gift Event Management chair Murray Emerson said Gravity Media had become an important part of the event.
“The Powercor Stawell Gift continues to evolve while honouring its rich history, and Gravity Media has been an important part of that journey,” he said.
“We are thrilled to renew our partnership and look forward to delivering an outstanding broadcast experience for athletes, spectators and viewers alike.”
Gravity Media head of production Mike Purcell said the renewed partnership reflected confidence in the company’s ability to deliver “world-class broadcast production consistently over the next five years”.
