Indigo Power’s appointment marks an important step toward strengthening local energy resilience for our community, with a strong focus on local upskilling and tailored solutions to maximise community benefit.

The project will see a battery installed at Pomonal Hall, designed specifically to provide backup power to this vital community facility in the event of a grid outage or emergency event.

Indigo Power will also upskill council and community members to operate the battery for long-term sustainability.

“This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and the commitment of regional councils to deliver for our communities,” Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said.

“We look forward to seeing Pomonal benefit from enhanced energy resilience and community capacity building,” he said.

Powering Resilience in the Regions is supported by the Victorian Government through the 100 Neighbourhood Batteries program (Round 2).
